Hi! My name is Sharon and I discovered craft chocolate back in 2013 when I used to work for an Italian food importer in New York City.
It all started with selling brands like Domori and Guido Gobino to the restaurants of the Big Apple, but the curiosity about this delicious food soon increased. After books, hours of research and many exciting tastings, I was hooked and didn't want to let go of this new passion.
I decided to collect the results of my research and tastings inside an online platform: The Chocolate Journalist was born. The excitement was such that I decided to also become a member of the Fine Chocolate Industry Association and participate to chocolate events around the world.
My journey continues as I specialize in delivering the latest news and trends from the chocolate industry on this website for both chocolate professionals and consumers. I also love to share all my chocolate tasting and thoughts on Instagram, where my tribe counts almost 30.000 passionate chocoholics. I am Top Contributor on every chocolate-related group on LinkedIn and the most engaging discussions about craft chocolate happen on my FB page The Chocolate Journalist. I am certified Level 1 Chocolate Taster by the International Institute of Chocolate and Cacao Tasting and I travel regularly to the countries of origin to visit cacao farms and learn from hands-on experiences.
When I don't write, research or eat chocolate, I like to read the latest news on social media marketing, consumer's psychology and business-related matters. I am Italian, currently living in Florence, 30 years old, Capricorn, passionate writer and karma believer.
